How do I sign up?

If you decide to publish with the Radboud Dissertations Series at Radboud University Press, please email us at dissertations.radbouduniversitypress@ru.nl. Please include the following details in your email:

  1. Your first and last name
  2. The full title of your dissertation (including subtitle)
  3. The topic of your dissertation
  4. The language in which your dissertation is written
  5. Estimated number of pages
  6. Illustrations included? Yes/no
  7. Date of defence (if known)

I don't have a date yet, can I still sign up?

Yes! As soon as you have submitted your manuscript to the manuscript committee, you can sign up by sending an email to dissertations.radbouduniversitypress@ru.nl.

Can I ask Radboud University Press to handle only the printing of my dissertation?

No. Printing is arranged by the designer as part of the production process and is only available for dissertations published in the Radboud Dissertation Series.

How long does the whole process take?

Three months before your planned promotion date is the latest you can apply to join the Radboud Dissertation Series. The design and printing process takes approximately two months in total. You also have to provide five hard copies of your dissertation to the Beadle's office four weeks before your promotion date, hence the three-month timeline. 

Do you also handle the design?

Yes. The interior and the cover will be designed by our team of designers. Covers are placed in a template where, among other things, the Radboud University Press logo and the research institute are mentioned. For examples of our templates, see our information flyer, page 11 (Dutch/English).

I've already designed the interior myself. Can I still participate?

Yes. Even if the interior has already been finalised, for example in LaTeX, you can still use the Radboud University Press publishing service. Our designers will guide you in correctly submitting the documents. Covers are placed in a template where, among other things, the Radboud University Press logo and the research institute are mentioned. How should I submit my materials?

After the registration process, one of our designers will contact you regarding the correct submission of the documents. Try to minimize any personal formatting of the document and preferably use the heading structure of Microsoft Word. For more information, see information flyer, page 43 (Dutch/English).

What are the costs?

The costs for our standard service (printing and design) are as follows: 

You can request a personalised quote if the page count of your dissertation significantly exceeds 230 pages.

Can I purchase additional services?

Yes! Additional services, such as individualised cover designs, individualised interior designs, and a physical proof copy, can be purchased for an additional fee. For pricing information, see our information flyer, page 41 (Dutch/English).
