About the Radboud Dissertation Series
⚠️ Since we are currently transitioning to a new designer, we can only accept applications from PhD candidates whose doctoral defences are scheduled for 18 November and beyond. We apologise for the inconvenience. ⚠️
PhD candidates pursuing their doctorates at Radboud University (with the exception of candidates from the Max Planck Institute and Behavioural Science Institute) have the opportunity to publish their dissertations with Radboud University Press as part of the Radboud Dissertation Series. Once you’ve received a DOI and an ISBN from Radboud University Press you:
- Agree that your thesis will be published in Open Access under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-NoDerivatives International license (CC BY-NC-ND4.0). This license allows reusers to copy and distribute the material in any medium or format in an unadapted form and for noncommercial purposes only, and only so long as attribution is given to the creator (see https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/). Although an embargo period is not impossible, Radboud University Press is a Diamond Open Access publisher and we would like to offer the immediate open access publication of your thesis. If you have received permission for an embargo, please let us know as soon as possible.
- Declare that all images used in the book and on the cover of your book are free of copyright or that you have obtained permission to use them.
- Agree that your name, address, telephone number and email address will be shared with the printer for the purpose of delivering your copies.

- Are responsible for delivering the requested amount of copies of your book at the Beadle’s office (and the Donders Institute, if relevant).
Before publication, you can order an initial print run of your dissertation. Your faculty will reimburse you for the design and printing costs up to a certain amount,* but you can order a larger print run at your own expense.
